Senior Marine Broker, Hull & Related risks, working at a small Lloyd’s Broker


Your new company
Your new job working as a Senior Marine Broker and essentially acting as a number two to the Managing Director will be working for a young, dynamic, and independent Marine insurance broker with offices in London, Madrid, Miami and Bogota. They are currently looking to fill a role in our London office, reporting to our Head of office. Your new Brokers embracing the challenges in a much-changed market place, they are a boutique marine broker with a different approach: they lay special focus on clients plus they employ a number of maritime lawyers which gives your new Brokers the advantage of servicing our clients on a number of different levels.

Your new role
Your Senior Marine Broker means you will be responsible for an all-encompassing Broking, Client Management and Management role where you will be acting as a number two to the Managing Director in terms of helping manage the office, the book and running all operations aspects alongside the MD. The ideal candidate will have Marine insurance broker with 5-10 years of placing experience in the London market. You mainly will have experience in handling Hull and Machinery and P&I but also cargo, liabilities, ports and terminals (marine) and also direct and wholesale business. You will be responsible for placement into Lloyd’s developing relationships with Underwriters and there will be frequent travel to Spain.

What you'll need to succeed
Your previous experience working within the Lloyd’s and London Insurance Market with an Insurance Broker, where you have profound knowledge handling Hull and Machinery and P&I but also cargo, liabilities, ports and terminals (marine) will contribute to your success in securing this role. You will have a good understanding of how the Lloyd’s and London Insurance Market works, and you will be able to utilise your extensive relationships with various Underwriters to negotiate competitive terms for the book. There will be Travel involved and you will have good communication skills and be able to confidently prioritise your workload. The ideal candidate will be ambitious as you will be acting to number two to the Managing Director of the Marine Book.
