HR Assistant / People Assistant - Temporary Immediate start in Sheffield £26,421 6-8 weeks

Your new company

Working for a leading public sector organisation in Sheffield, you will be part of a busy People Team who need support through a very busy period. This vacancy requires an immediate start and will be for 6-8 weeks across April - June 2024 ( Possibly longer depending on workloads)

£26,421 salary guide / £15.39 per hour ( including holiday pay )
37 hours a week
Hybrid working, roughly 2/3 days in office
Ideally, a car is needed as you may be asked to travel to different offices in the local area.

Your new role
This will be a busy role reporting to the HR Business Partner and the main purpose of the role will be to provide additional support to the People Partners.
This vacancy is temporary for 6- 8 weeks approximately to provide additional support for the People Department during a very busy time. Duties of the role are outlined as below and ideally the successful applicant will be able to complete the duties of the role;
- Provide support with HR Assistant based tasks for the People Partners
- Take a focus on reviewing absence management - working with line managers to make sure that they follow policy and procedures relating to recording absence management
- Provide support to Managers regarding attendance management issues and support the manager to provide the employee with relevant support to manage the absence
- Attend absence management meetings ( first stage absence management meetings), take notes and follow up actions, complete return to works administration tasks
- Attend case conferences and provide support to line managers
- Undertake an initial audit of the absence management process and provide information/ statistics regarding timescales and trends, develop and maintain accurate people statistical data relating, providing reports and presenting trends and forecasts to the People Relations Manager and People Partners as required
- Good working knowledge of MS Office is required and Excel ( intermediate level)

What you'll need to succeed
Ideally the successful applicant will be immediately available to start temporary work in Sheffield and have previous HR Assistant experience
Experience of absence management would be preferred
