Data Visualisation Engineer - Qlik and Tableau

I am working exclusively with a highly innovative global brand that are looking for a Data Visualisation Engineer with hands-on experience of building a self-service power platform.

This position sits within the rapidly growing Data & Analytics Team who are responsible for delivering data insights to the business so that they can use data to make better business and customer decisions.

You'll be joining them as a long-term Data Visualisation Engineer, to support this vision and to work with the team to understand the business requirements and to deliver the most impactful view of the data in a narrative-driven format designed to drive the decision-making process of the business.

Typical job responsibilities will be as follows:
  • Lead the business in designing visualisation presentations of data and to identify how the data will be questioned, so that the visualisations have the flexibility to allow drill down and analysis on multiple levels.
  • Investigate business problems and identify opportunities to develop data visualisations that help to drive business decisions.
  • Contribute to the technical design of the data sourcing and aggregation of data required to populate the visualisations.
  • Contribute to the collection of the data from multiple (heterogeneous) sources and to the development of the data source structures on AWS Cloud Data Hub.
  • Leverage the data from group systems to allow business processes to be analysed and key analytics measures to be identified providing meaningful data insights to the business.
  • Technical development (programming) of visualisation in group standard solutions (including Tableau, Qlik)
Experience required

Data professional with a proven background of delivering a similar sort of self-serve platform. An individual who is curious and wants to improve knowledge of AI and Data Science.

  • Recognised expertise in modern visualisation techniques in Tableau and QlikSense.
  • Significant experience of working in a data & analytics team for an established company going through a similar transformation of self-service delivery to the wider business as they empower the business to drive data
  • Demonstratable understanding & experience of data concepts, technology and architectures.
  • You must understand the technical concepts and the rapidly changing world of data & analytics, including knowledge of AI & machine learning techniques.
  • Excellent SQL and Python programming ability.
  • Ability to automate processes and work with partners to develop operational and automated ETL systems.
  • Advanced understanding of data warehousing.
  • Knowledge of AWS Cloud Data Hub technology.
