R&D Client (Senior) Manager job opportunity in Milton Keynes

R&D Client (Senior) Manager
We are seeking passionate, highly experienced R&D Managers/Senior Managers.

The right candidate is imperative so location is flexible – they are a fun, social bunch, so a visit to their stunning office location in Milton Keynes will be encouraged 1/2 times per month.
You will lead the financial element of the R&D claim and be responsible for successfully managing and leading the process. You will be up to date with the latest Guidelines and will have up to date knowledge of the relevant tax legislation and the CIRD manuals.
Key responsibilities:
Client work:
  • Build and develop working relationships with clients, accountants and HMRC to ensure claims are optimised and deadlines are met
  • Alongside your technical counterpart, you will gather information from clients on all aspects of their R&D which you believe to be eligible under the UK R&D scheme
  • Ensure R&D claims meet the requirements of relevant tax legislation and the Guidelines
  • Ensure clients receive a consistent high level of service
  • Assemble R&D expenditure calculations, finalise the claim report to include the claim methodology, and complete any additional tax and financial requirements, in a timely manner
  • Review claim reports, R&D expenditure calculations and tax submissions for other team members
  • Ensure company workflow for R&D claims is met for every client
  • Maintain internal systems ensuring data integrity
Communication:
  • Deal with client and external accountant phone calls adhering to company guidelines
  • Deal with client and external accountant correspondence following company guidelines
Teamwork:
  • Build constructive working relationships with colleagues
  • Support team members to help achieve their goals
  • Collaborate with the R&D Technical Specialists and R&D Business Development Managers to obtain responses to client questions
  • Support R&D Business Development Managers in the sales and marketing activity including attending events and prospect meetings when required
Technology:
  • Utilise the software tools available to provide an outstanding service to your client portfolio
  • Ensure your personal software certificates are achieved within agreed timescales and are kept up to date
Other skills:
  • Ensure you are up to date with internal R&D training
  • Manage multiple timelines, deadlines and queries
  • Develop your understanding of additional services & referrals that the firm has to offer, notify the sales team of any potential opportunities
  • Communicate effectively and appropriately in any given situation
Requirements:
  • Accountancy/tax qualified e.g. ACA/ACCA/CTA/ATT
  • Minimum 3 years as an R&D tax practitioner with experience leading, project managing, and preparing claims (with a focus on the financial side of claims)
  • Team player; with the ability to develop and inspire others
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent attention to detail
