Scientist | Mass Spectrometry | Biological Characterisation | Protein | Interim

Your new company

A global biopharmaceutical leader is looking for an experienced individual to join their Biological Characterisation Product Development department. This will be a 12-month contract joining their site in Slough. This company commits their work to improving the lives of people living with severe neurological and immunological conditions with a strong focus on research and teamwork. This role will be contributing to that research by using mass-spectrometry based methods to characterise proteins to interpret their structure and function.

Your new role

  • Using various mass spectrometry based methods such as intact mass, multiple attribute methods & peptide mapping, ion mobility, host-cell protein analysis and hydrogen deuterium exchange to analyse protein therapeutics
  • Communicate technical analytical problems to other teams
  • Opportunities to learn about industrial & regulatory guidelines
  • Overcoming complex scientific problems
  • Assay & instrument troubleshooting
  • Research specific literature to make sure you are up-to-date with the newest analytical techniques.
  • Lead experimental design and interpret your results

What you'll need to succeed

  • Hold a PhD / a graduate with 2+ years of industry experience using mass spectrometry.
  • Mass spectrometry expertise
  • Time management skills, being able to prioritise workload effectively
  • Ability to establish & build working relationships as will be in group dynamics
  • Ability to draw conclusions from results and ensure data is captured accurately
  • Very good English literacy as you will be researching specific analytical protocols.
  • Proficient in IT solutions
