12- Month Contract - Payroll Officer Position

Your new role
To manage the day-to-day task of the Payroll and Pensions assistants and to be responsible for ensuring all payrolls are produced accurately and within the required time scale.
To provide an efficient and effective Payroll service
To manage and maintain the Payroll and Pensions mailbox ensuring timely action and allocation of work and to be responsible for the customer service function within the Payroll and Pensions team.
- To balance and reconcile all pay variances, both permanent and temporary data, run reports within the payroll system and use a number of different balance sheets to reconcile, using analytical skills to interrogate data, investigate anomalies and apply system changes where applicable.
- To perform accurate calculations for all statutory payments, have a clear understanding of regulations and apply rules to reconcile data for payments both to employees and HMRC.
- Ensure 3rd party payments in relation to statutory and voluntary pay deductions, are reconciled and paid accordingly in compliance with HMRC regulations.
What you'll need to succeed
CIPP at Foundation level or equivalent Payroll Qualification
Knowledge of statutory requirements and legislation relating to payroll
Knowledge of PAYE & NIC
Proven experience of working for a payroll service
Proven experience of working with IT packages such as MS Office
