Your new company

I am working exclusively with a Royal College based in Central London, and we are looking for a part-time Policy and Research Officer to join the college on a 6-month FTC. If you are a recent Policy Masters with some professional Policy and Research experience, looking for a flexible role in a Public Sector organisation, then this is the role for you! This is a new role, as the team needs an extra pair of hands during a busy period of time.

Your new role

The successful candidate will be:
  • Providing policy support across the college, leading in the delivery of consultations, and contributing to successful policy and campaign goals.
  • Deliver project management and general support to the wider organisation in the coordination and delivery of consultations. This will include writing and drafting Project Management reports, consultation responses, attending external meetings, managing key stakeholders.
  • Provide expert policy advice, guidance and briefings to key internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in formulating responses to emerging issues.
  • Work with colleagues across the devolved nations to facilitate relevant policy information sharing.
  • Advise the Chair and other Officers to coordinate the input into policymaking.

What you'll need to succeed

This position is ideal for someone who has:
  • Experience of delivering policy support and output.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to draft and edit a range of policy documents.
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to represent the organisation at external events.
  • (Desirable) An understanding of the UK Public Sector system
