Director of Housing, Capital Works, Housing Repairs and Maintenance, Asset Management

Your new company
Our client is a large public sector organisation based in Southwest London, who are currently looking to appoint an Interim Assistant Director of Housing on a long-term rolling contract basis.
The job is to be the strategic lead to help deliver various housing services that the organisation is responsible for. Our client promotes hybrid working based on either 2 or 3 days in the office depending on workloads, meetings etc, giving you autonomy and flexibility in this appointment.

Your new role
As the successful candidate it will be your responsibility to be the strategic and operational lead to help deliver housing services inclusive of Capital Works, Asset Management, Repairs / Maintenance and other related services within the department. You will lead the various Heads of Service to help deliver a continually improving service to residents and tenants of the organisation.
You will also look at the governance and delivery structures, roles and resources; and advising on effective responses to changes in government legislation, policy; Social Housing Act and external funding opportunities. As a senior leader, you will have budgetary responsibilities to help manage all the services, getting the best value for money, whilst providing the best possible service to customers.

What you'll need to succeed
As a senior leader you will be expected to:
• Have significant experience of leading the delivery of complex corporate policy that aligns and supports organisational strategy.
• Expert understanding of the key issues facing local government, the wider public sector and partners and of local, regional and national policy.
• Strong leadership skills and experience of leading multidisciplinary teams, identifying priorities, objectives, timescales and resources and be responsible for its performance and outputs.
You will need to have experience or background in the “bricks and mortar” side of housing delivering projects and programmes that have added value to the organisations you have worked with.
