Logistic Planner

Hays are recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Planner working to join our client on an ongoing long-term temporary assignment for an approximate duration of 12 months.

Location: Oxford
Assignment type: 12 month rolling contact, ongoing basis where you will be engaged via Hays
Working environment: Hybrid
Hours per week: 37
Pay type: Competitive hourly pay rate

Your new role
  • As the Specialist Logistics Planner, you will be responsible for the planning of all logistical structural elements and equipment which are necessary for the supply of the vehicle components and assemblies in Plant Oxford logistics principles.
  • You will create and implement an efficient material flow plan consistent with VPS principles, whilst considering optimum space and cost requirements.
  • Responsibility for the target achievement of the above actions, high level decision-making and project management to implement agreed projects and escalating where appropriate.
  • You will evaluate material flow concepts for new projects as steered by the Project Team, calculating cost and space requirements and making recommendations to senior management.
  • Using EXCEL and other applicable software, you will analyse data and utilise PowerPoint to present topics to the team and management as part of your daily business.

Qualifications
  • Qualified to a minimum NVQ level 3 or Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Science is advantageous.
  • Project Management experience with cross-functional teams.
  • Flexibility to work on multiple projects simultaneously across multiple locations.
  • Excellent OEM product and process experience are required. A strong network within the plant and the logistics network globally, experienced in both planning and the operational business.
  • Understanding of MS Office and IT Systems.
