Finance Officer Job in Manchester City Centre for Great Educational Business - Hybrid Working

Our client are a specialist educational business based in Manchester City Centre, offering opportunities to students of all backgrounds. They are seeking a Finance Officer to join the team.
Your new role
As the Finance Officer you will be responsible for;
Efficient implementation of accounting procedures.
Checking and processing all purchase ledger invoices, expense claims, credit card purchases, petty cash, cheque runs (weekly), and BACS payments (twice per month).
Raising all invoices and posting to the Sales Ledger, cash handling, bank reconciliations, digital VAT returns and year end procedures including accruals and pre-payments.
Process journals, and handle all aspects of income and expenditure for two entities
Assist the Finance Manager with processing the year-end audit, and assist auditors with any queries.
Solely responsible for the Billing Ledger; creating and updating billing accounts; producing termly bills; distributing to parents, chasing fee payments in a timely manner, and reporting any problems to the manager
What you'll need to succeed
You will have:
Previous experience in finance or accounting roles
Experience processing invoices (Sales and Purchase)
Experience with reconciling bank statements
Experience in preparing for external audits
Ability to work independently
