Your new role
As a Working Foreman, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating on-site construction activities. You will be responsible for managing and leading a team of tradespeople, ensuring work is completed to a high standard and on schedule. This role requires a strong trade background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, subcontractors, and clients. This is a permanent position that offers stability and the opportunity to contribute to the success of a well-established building company.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of tradespeople, ensuring work is carried out efficiently and to the required specifications.
- Coordinate and supervise on-site activities, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to project managers.
- Allocate resources and manage the scheduling of tasks to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess work quality and adherence to project plans.
- Provide guidance and support to team members, promoting a positive and productive working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily reports, progress reports, and site diaries.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, subcontractors, and clients, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of construction processes and practices.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in construction management.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience as a Working Foreman in the construction industry is essential.
- Strong trade background is required.
- CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card is necessary.
- Excellent leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and their application on construction sites.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and drawings.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Full UK driving licence.
