Management Accountant

Your new company

A Home developer based in the High Wycombe area; enjoying successful growth year-on-year and offering experience for a PART QUALIFIED Accountant to join them and develop their skills and gain their qualifications. The relevant candidate will work in the office becoming pivotal in producing and implementing controls, being part of acquisitions, commercial activity, variance analysis and statutory reporting. This may suit someone looking to step up or someone moving into the industry with some experience already.

We're really looking for Good, Management Accountants or Assistant Management Accountants who want to work in a developmental office, supported to finish their Qualifications.


Your new role

  • Working closely with the Financial Controller to produce Monthly Management Accounts and reports across the Group
  • Taking ownership of key areas of the P&L
  • Maintaining the accuracy of balance sheet accounts
  • Supporting reconciliations including inventory, accruals, prepayments and fixed asset registers for the Group
  • Review monthly Group VAT returns
  • Review monthly Group CIS returns
  • Support for processing house sales transactions and general ledger journals on the COINS IT system (system training can be provided)
  • Understanding and investigating variances between reported and budgeted results and communicating these internally as appropriate
  • Support the Financial Controller with annual audit preparations and periodic reporting to investors
  • Training and developing more junior team members of the team
  • Consider existing processes and seek to suggest improvements to controls and procedures.
  • Ad hoc analysis as required by the Senior Finance team and wider business


What you'll need to succeed

  • RIGHT TO WORK in the UK.
  • Ideally a part-qualified accountant (e.g. CIMA / ACCA) with experience in a similar role
  • A confident IT user with strong Excel skills
  • Attention to detail, ensuring that monthly reporting is both accurate and complete
  • Able to prioritise own workload and manage time in order to meet deadlines
  • A team player with strong communication skills and a can-do attitude
  • Experience of working to tight timescales, in particular month-end reporting in a larger business or Plc environment, would be advantageous.
  • Previous use of COINS is desirable, but not essential.
  • This role is not hybrid.
