Amazing opportunity to join a global biopharmaceutical company on a 12-month contract
Your new company
This global biopharmaceutical company is looking for a research associate on a contractual basis. They are currently looking for a research associate to support their Protein Engineering department, being responsible for identifying new novel antibody therapeutics for the business. This company’s main goal is to improve the lives of people living with autoimmune conditions. The ideal candidate would be joining them on a 12-month contract.
Your new role
Your tasks will include a range of laboratory tasks from DNA preparation, biologic sample aliquoting, managing inventory and sample distribution through screening assays. You will be included in a range of discovery projects, so attention to detail is extremely important. Your primary responsibilities will be small- and large-scale DNA preparation such as bacterial cell culture and cloning, as well as protein expression and expression analysis. You will have to maintain mammalian cell lines and harvest supernatants and cell pellets whilst also liaising with scientists to respond to sample requests to make sure they are fulfilled in a timely manner.
What you'll need to succeed
- Equivalent of a B.Sc. in Biological Sciences with previous experience in handling a large amount of samples
- Some previous experience of understanding and/or working with bacterial and mammalian cell culture.
- Previous experience with working with a range of different types of pipettes and handling samples.
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
- Skilled in Microsoft Office
