Job Opportunity: Assistant Principal (SENCO) at a new Alternative Provision Resource base for children with SEMH!!


About the Job:

As a SENCO, you'll be an experienced teacher with a passion for supporting pupils with special educational needs. As a member of SLT, you will use your leadership skills to manage the provision in your school and to provide support to other teachers and learning support professionals.

Your responsibilities will include designing and delivering interventions with pupils in the classroom and implementing a whole school strategy for SEND.

Main duties and responsibilities - to oversee and line manage the new Special Resource Base
Work closely with the Vice Principal, Head of Pastoral and Deputy SENDCo to ensure that inclusion is at the heart of whole school policies and culture.
Act as a deputy safeguarding lead.
Strategic Leadership and Development - to lead, plan and manage the resourcing and delivery of SEND provision, working with staff to ensure that procedures and expectations regarding SEND students are clear and appropriate.
To advise the Principal in the decision making and leadership of SEN.
To share direct accountability for the successful delivery of the vision for the school
To lead, plan, manage and ensure the successful delivery of the school vision for individual student achievement that meets or surpasses expectation.
Core Duties/Ethos - Highly visible, supportive and approachable.

About You / Qualifications and Experience:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
SENDCo Qualification, Desirable
ASD/SEMH experience, Essential
