Solicitor - Education to provide a high quality legal service covering all aspects of education law work.

Your new company

The Education team cover pupils/students throughout their academic career – from primary school children through to Further and Higher Education. We cover matters such as school admission appeals, exclusions, complaints, Independent Schools, Special Educational Needs, discrimination, issues of academic misconduct, issues regarding PhDs and Fitness to Practice.

Your new role

To p rovide a high-quality legal service to clients of the Firm to include processing new and existing instructions covering all aspects of education law work. In particular, the range of work is broad and will cover work from parents and young adults around access and also individuals working in the education sector supporting their professional career.

What you'll need to succeed

Qualifications
  • You will be a Solicitor with some knowledge of education law
  • Strong academics: educated to degree level (with at least a 2:1) and a strong LPC pass (or equivalent) and hold a clean practising certificate from the SRA
Skills and Experiences
  • Recently qualified as a solicitor with Education law experience would be desirable but not essential.
  • At ease and confident working on your own caseload and acting on a transaction from start to finish
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint and self-sufficient in using document management systems and the internet as a business tool
  • Able to take a flexible approach and work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining the highest quality standards and attention to detail
  • Proven business development skills
