£35,000 - £45,000 (DOE) - Exeter (Hybrid)

The BI function is responsible for providing insights and intelligence relating to the whole organisation, in the context of activity, cost, quality and performance data. It will store and present information in a consistent, unified way to ensure the organisation is working from one version of the truth. This role will provide an expert high-quality business intelligence service for the organisation.


Your new role:

  • Provide timely, efficient, and effective expert analysis and statistical reporting of information.
  • Develop and maintain the databases, datasets, and business intelligence tools. Building datasets, visualisations and reports in Microsoft Power BI. Identifying, analysing and querying data in Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Provide specialist advice, guidance, and development of reporting systems to support the improvement of operational performance.
  • Work with operational teams to understand their information needs and potential solutions.
  • Contribute to the review, development, implementation, and evaluation of new information management systems.
  • Produce reports and analysis of the organisation's performance to assist in the translation of business objectives, processes, and policy decisions.
  • Identify and feedback issues which affect the use and performance of the BI systems, to ensure continuous quality improvement.
  • Assisting in the development of project plans and ensuring timely progress updates of work to stakeholders and other team members.

What you’ll need to be successful in the role:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in a specialist area.
  • Highly numerate, computer-literate and practised in statistical analysis. Being able to interpret information, analyse and present information according to need; and use it for comparison, planning, monitoring, and improvement.
  • The ability to interpret complex requirements and statistical information, formulate options, and present findings to management.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server including TSQL, Stored Procedures and Functions, with significant experience designing and developing scalable relational databases.
  • Experience of Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, Analysis Services, and Integration Services.
