Primary School Administrator Job - St Helens Area

Your new company.

Hays Education are working with a St Helens-based Primary school in Newton le Willows looking for a full-time administrator from April 2024. The school has an amazing staff who work to make sure back and front office administration runs smoothly and all aspects of policy and process are adhered to. It is in a leafy area of South St Helens with great local travel links and bespoke eateries and shops. The school is a lovely little 2 form entry infants school and has great outdoor areas for a scenic view. The business manager welcomes applicants who have experience of working with school systems in either supportive roles with children or administration roles.

Your new role.

Working alongside the business manager and one other administrators, you will support with front of house/ reception duties in a busy school office. You will support with general administration, signing in visitors, responding to phone and email queries and using SIMS / Arbor to input attendance and maintain student data. You may also be required to do some finance depending on experience and track and monitor pupils' absence / sickness.

What you'll need to succeed.

  • Experience of working with SIMS / Arbor or a similar school system would be an advantage, although training can be provided.
  • You will have at least 2 years experience working in a busy office environment and dealing accurately with large volumes of confidential data.
  • You will be well-organised and professional with excellent communication skills.
