Group Regional Sales Director, Mobile Network Towers, London / Dubai / Africa £150k base + 30% bonus

Your new company

I have recently partnered with a leading independent telecommunications infrastructure company, having established one of the most extensive tower portfolios in Africa. They build, own, and operate telecom passive infrastructure, providing services to mobile network operators. They currently operate in 8 markets in Africa and Oman in the Middle East.

They are currently seeking to hire a Group Regional Sales Director to cover London, Dubai and Africa.

The Group Sales Director will be involved in a diverse range of activities such as sales reporting, forecasting, budgeting, contract negotiation, approval of new capital projects and evaluation of bolt-on acquisitions.

The role holder will be responsible for building & overseeing the Sales team while working closely with the Group Commercial Department to embed company values of integrity, partnership and excellence into all aspects of the Sales function in accordance with the objectives of the Group’s Sustainable Business Strategy.

Staff Leadership and Management

  • Ability to work in a team.

  • Provide information to Manager on work accomplishments, individual/team challenges.
  • Lead team meetings and contribute to specialist/technical areas when required.
  • Review and report on functional performance to the manager

Governance

  • Adhoc and Operational Meeting
  • Works to achieve operational targets with significant impact on departmental results.
  • Set up and manage adhoc meetings for day-to-day operational requirements as and when required.
  • Escalations
  • Resolve escalations as per defined escalation/resolution procedures.
  • Group Operational
  • Design and implement operational changes and provide associated user impact assessment.
  • Performance
  • Improve productivity and quality through leading practice initiatives.

Operational Delivery

  • Work closely with the Regional CEO’s and Country CEO’s/MD’s to develop and implement a sales and marketing strategy to ensure that the Group’s plans fully meet the Group’s revenue requirements.
  • Analyse and understand all market and competitor activity to enable the company to exploit all market opportunities.
  • Identify old and new HT customers who can be targeted in a retention and development plan.
  • Develop and ensure the management of stakeholder relationships and strategy for influencing governments and parliaments to ensure all licencing arrangements are guaranteed and protected.
  • Develop high quality partnership relationships with customers and potential customers by establishing world-class customer service standards and working with the country's CEO’s to ensure successful delivery.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Sales Management with at least 5 years in a Senior Leadership position.
  • Strong experience in Sales & Marketing with an extensive knowledge of sales principles & practices
  • Experience of managing a sales team is essential.
  • Experience in leading sales negotiations, which led to increases.
  • Experience working in a FTSE 250 organisation/ publicly listed company.
  • Experience of working in emerging markets is essential, preferably Africa
