Children's Deputy Manager

Hays are proud to be working on behalf of a organisation which are recruiting for a Deputy Home Manager. Within this role you will play a crucial role in supporting the Registered Manager in the establishment and day-to-day operations of their brand-new 4-bedded EBD service which has just opened. This exciting opportunity allows you to contribute to the service’s growth and development while ensuring exceptional care for children and young people. We are seeking candidates with experience in senior or management roles within children’s residential services.

Key Responsibilities


  1. Supporting the Registered Manager :
    • Collaborate closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the smooth running of the children’s home.
    • Deputise for the Registered Manager as needed, taking full responsibility during their absence.
  2. Management and Development :
    • Assist the Registered Manager with managing and developing the home.
    • Drive the delivery of an excellent quality service for the children and young people under our care.
    • Uphold the highest standards of care in accordance with legislation, government guidance, regulations, and company policies.
  3. Leadership and Team Support :
    • Supervise and lead the staff team, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
    • Inspire and develop team members to provide outstanding care.
    • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children, ensuring childcare meets the highest quality standards.
  4. Operational Excellence :
    • Contribute to strategic planning and growth initiatives for the home.
    • Oversee administrative tasks within the home.
    • Conduct monthly quality assurance reviews to maintain high standards.
  5. Relationship Building :
    • Collaborate with in-house therapists and external partners to create an amazing family environment.
    • Represent the service positively within the community.


Qualifications and Experience


  • Experience : Must have worked in a senior or management role within a children’s residential service.
  • NVQ within Children Services : Hold a recognised qualification (Level 3 or above).
  • Leadership Skills : Demonstrate effective leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Passion for Care : Share our commitment to improving the lives of children and young people.


Salary and Benefits


  • Salary : Up to £45,000 per annum (commensurate with experience) plus bonus’
  • Bonus : Eligible for performance-based bonuses.
