Liability/ Construction Underwriter, working for a City based MGA
Your new company
Your new job working as a Construction / Liability Underwriter for an MGA based in the City, who provides insurance solutions that specialises in both the e-trade & traditional underwriting of SME commercial package policies inclusive of commercial combined & contractors combined, plus in addition, some personal lines insurance distributed through agency network of UK retail insurance brokers. Your new MGA pride themselves on ensuring excellent engagement with and performance for insurers is of paramount importance to ensure the continued sustainability of the insurer panel offered to brokers. Due to growth in the Construction / Liability team , a permanent role for a Construction / Liability Underwriter who has proven experience in writing high hazard, construction, liability and tradesmen risks has risen.
Your new role
Your new job working as a Construction / Liability Underwriter writing wages and turnover business on a presentation basis. You will be responsible Underwriting a high volume of wages and turnover business, average premium is circa £3,000 with a potential to write up to a premium of £100,000. You will have the ability to interpret policy / endorsement wordings and have experience in writing own or modifying existing wordings. Other duties will include Identifies cover and hazards that will impact on the acceptance, pricing, or terms applicable to a risk. You will Understand the impact of claims and risk management on the performance of a case and demonstrates an ability to review taking these factors into account.
What you’ll need to succeed
Your previous experience working as either an Underwriter or an Account Executive You will need to be a Construction / Liability Underwriter or Account Executive who has proven experience in writing high hazard, construction, liability and tradesmen risks. . You will also be an optimistic candidate and be able to positively reinforce and display the company values and to actively drive the business forward in achieving its objectives. The ideal candidate will be Cert CII qualified and have a minimum of three years’ experience.
