Project Worker - Supported Housing - Full time - Ongoing temp

Hays are currently looking to recruit experienced Project Workers on behalf of one of our Social Housing clients based in Salford who offer supported housing to vulnerable clients who have living within the community. This is a full-time role, 36 hours per week (Mon to Fri) on an ongoing temporary basis with temp to perm opportunities for the right candidates.

Our client has a number of dispersed properties within the areas of Salford, Rochdale and Bury so are looking for candidates who drive & have access to their own vehicle as an essential for the role, as you will be out & about during the week visiting clients who are in your caseload, supporting them with independent living & tenancy sustainment. Mileage will be paid when travelling to properties from the office at 45p per mile.

Your new role

  • Supporting clients with any queries relating to their housing & welfare benefit entitlements and assisting with applications

  • Conducting regular property inspections and checks to ensure health & safety standards are maintained, reporting any required repairs or safeguarding concerns, and managing void properties

  • Assess and process possible admissions into the accommodation, advising on Short-Hold Tenancy Agreements and tenants handbook

  • Liaising with various external agencies on behalf of clients such as Social Workers, GP's, Health Visitors, Housing Benefit, and The Home Office

  • Risk assessing clients based on individual circumstances/backgrounds, and implementing support plans based on needs specific to the individual

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience of providing housing & tenancy management services, support and advice to vulnerable clients, preferably Asylum Seekers/Refugees

  • Good knowledge of welfare rights and housing benefit system

  • Driving licence with access to own vehicle

  • Experience of working in unsupervised situations and ability to work to own initiative, as well as experience of ascertaining & assessing the needs of individuals
