Production Planner | £32k | Hope Valley | Full Time, Permanent

Your new role

A new opportunity from Hays Supply Chain for an experienced Production Planner, you would be joining a growing manufacturing business in South Yorkshire. As Production Planner, you will have a methodical approach to planning and organisation and a keen eye for detail. The Production Planner should be capable of both working in a team and without excessive supervision and should have excellent communication skills.

Key duties include;

  • To plan all incoming orders, acknowledging production deliveries to sales within the laid-out time criteria ensuring customer delivery requirements are met.
  • Prepare production schedules for each manufacturing department according to established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
  • To ensure each operation meets shipping dates according to sales forecasts and promise dates against project and customer requirements.
  • To track and progress customer orders through plans -to report any existing or forthcoming problems to production control.
  • Access the need for in house manufacturing or subcontract requirements.
  • Prepare reports and maintain Gantt charts, receive action, and organise project paperwork inclusive of order amendments.
  • Input data on to business systems and parts requirements per project
  • Attend meetings as required in the role of production planner inclusive of contract acceptance meetings.
  • Plan and schedule orders for spare parts.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Experience in a busy manufacturing environment.
  • Production Planning experience in a related or similar industry.
  • PC Literate and an understanding of MRP systems - Mapics/InforXA preferred but not essential.
  • Committed understanding of business operations and manufacturing processes
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.

A salary of £30,000 per annum is on offer with an excellent benefits package including a £2,000 bonus, 24 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension and much more.

The role would be Monday to Friday, with Friday finish at 12.45pm.
