Your new company is a biotechnology startup based in the University of Cambridge, on a mission to redefine the food industry. They are looking for a Business Development Associate to join their team and help drive their business forward by identifying and pursuing business opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations. In this generalist role, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with the executives on day-to-day tasks to execute the company's strategic vision and goals. They will establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including potential clients, collaborators, and industry partners. They will prepare regular reports on business development activities, progress, and key performance indicators, as well as Quarterly Financial Reports for investors. They will also lead grant applications to secure funding for groundbreaking initiatives and ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and regulations in the food tech industry. To be successful in this role, the candidate should hold a Bachelor's Degree or higher qualification in a relevant scientific, finance or business field and have prior experience in business development, product management, executive assistance, or a related role within the biotech industry. They should be proficient in IT skills, including spreadsheets and project management software, and have excellent organizational and time-management skills. They should also be detail-oriented, adaptable, and willing to take on diverse responsibilities and work well under pressure. In return, the candidate will enjoy 26 days of holiday each year (not including bank holidays), be a part owner of the company through their stock options plan, and have the potential for excellent career progression as an integral part of a small, multi-disciplinary team. They will contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies and work with leaders in the field while immersing themselves in the historical University of Cambridge, working in a world-renowned campus. If you know of a passionate individual who shares their vision, please encourage them to apply with their CV and a cover letter.
