Your new role

As Procurement Officer, the role holder will report to the Head of Procurement Services and will work on a number of important procurements and projects for the organisation. The Procurement Officer will assist with the tendering, evaluation, placement and monitoring of designated corporate contracts, in addition to providing support to key strategic projects.

Main duties and responsibilities include:
  • Assist the Procurement Office to deliver a transparent and fair procurement service that promotes value for money, adopts best practice and ensures the organisation operates within the legal framework applying to public procurement, ensuring that value for money, accountability and legal compliance are achieved.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to provide advice on processes, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the organisation's Procurement Policy, Financial Regulations, NI Public Procurement Policy, and other relevant guidance including the Public Contract Regulations (PCR 2015)
  • Assist with and advise on compliance reviews of existing contracts.
  • Assist with maximising the use of collaborative contracts within the sector and more widely within public procurement as appropriate.
  • Maintain procurement systems and records to ensure efficient and effective operations and robust internal controls are in place.
  • Assist with monitoring and ensuring achievement of value for money in all procurement including collaborating and/or advising colleagues to assist them achieve same.
  • Assist budget holders with contract management skills through ongoing training, development, consultation and communication.

What you'll need to succeed

EITHER:

  • Working towards an MCIPS qualification with at least one years’ related experience of procurement, tendering and contract management processes
    OR

  • Able to demonstrate 2 years’ relevant experience of procurement, tendering and contract management processes.
