Thriving multi-academy trust, seeking a network manager to join the team permanently in North Manchester.

Your new company

This multi-academy trust is one of the largest in the UK, currently consisting of 30 schools but with growth plans to quickly increase this to over 50 schools, with a strong presence in the North West. As a trust, they have a centralised IT team as well as Network Managers and Engineers based on site in schools and, due to an internal promotion, they have approached Hays looking to appoint a Network Manager to be based at a North Manchester-based secondary school. The trust has an excellent reputation for the IT service they provide across all schools, as well as the forward-thinking approach they have and career development opportunities open to everyone. This particular role is based in a North Manchester secondary school close to the Prestwich area which has been graded as good by OFSTED.

Your new role

Reporting to the Regional IT Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the IT service provided in school, working closely with IT engineer colleagues, as well as with support from the central IT team. On a daily basis, you will be maintaining hardware and software utilised on a daily basis by both staff and pupils, working closely with senior leadership around the use of IT in the classroom and working closely with the central IT team around any ongoing IT projects. As a trust, they are cloud based and therefore provide significant training around cloud, as well as have a focus on cyber security moving forward, therefore also offering training in this area. Duties in this role to support the school will include the setting up and installation of hardware and software, resolving any network issues in school, working with IT engineers around IT service requests, rolling out of new IT equipment and providing training around this and supporting specific educational technologies. This is an exciting opportunity for either an established Network Manager to further develop their skills working for a large MAT, or for a Senior Technician/Engineer to take the next step in their career into a more senior role.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess significant IT experience with experience specifically in the education sector, either working as a Network Manager or a Senior Technician/Technical lead in a school. You will be seeking a new challenge working for an organisation which will enable you to further develop your skills and experience and become a part of this success story in the rewarding world of education.

What you'll get in return

In return, you will be paid a competitive salary of between £36,000 and £39,000 with regular increases, as well as receiving a one-off payment of £1500 after 2 years' service with the organisation. On top of this, they offer an excellent benefit package which is industry leading with 31 days holiday (plus bank), a cycle to work scheme, large retail discounts and an internal training programme. For the successful candidate, you will be working with a well established and highly experienced IT team in the education sector, providing you with industry-specific training and guidance, allowing you to further develop your skills and, therefore your career.
