Our client is a top 50 accountancy practice, specialising in providing expert solutions for entrepreneurial businesses and private individuals in Central and Southern England. Your new role
With offices across Central and Southern England, they are expanding ambitiously and are keen to build on their team. Key responsibilities would include:
  • Lead diverse and intricate audit assignments across various sectors, collaborating with managers and partners as needed.
  • Preparing audit files, participating in audit planning, and leading or assisting with fieldwork. As you progress, you’ll take on more responsibility and lead smaller audits.
  • Ensure high-quality, timely completion of audit assignments within agreed budgets.
  • Utilise accounting software for accurate reporting to managers, directors, and clients.
  • Prepare corporation tax computations.
  • Stay updated on industry and national economic developments.
  • Cultivating lasting client relationships.
  • Engaging in diverse and intricate audit assignments across various sectors, collaborating with seniors, managers, and partners as needed.
  • While the role primarily focuses on audits, there will also be opportunities to contribute to preparing accounts.

In addition, for the Audit Senior:
  • Allocate work and supervise junior team members during audits, offering support, training, and reviewing their work.
  • Oversee and review tasks performed by less experienced staff.
  • Finalise statutory accounts under your Line Manager’s supervision.
  • Contribute to service and product pricing, including assisting with new client quotes.
  • Foster productive relationships within the firm and with clients.
  • Enhance your technical expertise through on-the-job training.

What you'll need to succeed
The ideal person will be part-qualified or fully ACCA/ACA qualified with a minimum of 1 years’ experience (3 for the Audit Senior position), with some account exposure, and strong academics. It would be advantageous to have experience with Xero, Sage, CaseWare, and CCH. Charity audit experience is also a plus. Personal qualities required include exceptional attention to detail, a positive, confident, and proactive approach, and effective time management to meet tight deadlines with high-quality work. The right person will be a collaborative team player who is client and staff focused. Proficiency in Excel is a must.
