Exciting Mechanical Design Engineer Vaccancy - Interim Contract (6 to 9 Months Rolling) - Outside IR35

Hays is currently working with a reputable contractor who specialise in M&E Building Services in search of a mechanical design engineer. They work on various projects ranging from industrial, commercial, heritage and new build projects across the country. Since 1964, they have been delivering high quality work and great customer satisfaction to their clients. With projects ranging from £50k to £2million the client has seen exponential growth over the last several years, leading to their expansion and continued recruitment across the board.
Your new role
You will be working on a variety of different projects with both public and private clients. In this you will be involved in all aspects of the mechanical design, including specifications and liaising with external clients. Further duties will involve:
• Preparation of designs, calculations, specifications and tender documentation for mechanical services as part of a project team
• Understanding of regulations and standards and keeping up to date with future changes
• Coordination with other disciplines and specialists
• Promote the company to the best ability at all times
• Undertake feasibility studies
• Preparation of detailed budget costs and defined estimates if required
What you'll need to succeed
• Good interpersonal skills to work both internally with multidisciplined teams and with clients and customers.
• Proven experience in designing, site surveying and project management of multiple building projects.
• Ability to successfully manage complex multidisciplinary projects, including budgets and final accounts.
• HNC in Building Services Engineering/Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) or willing to work towards.
• Excellent customer service skills and actively seeks ways to improve services and outcomes for clients.
• Ability to problem-solve to meet operational targets and prioritising the resources available.
• Keeping up to date with statutory legislation, building regulations, good industry practice and guidance.
• Knowledge of RIBA stages of work, building services, engineering design materials and technologies.
