General KS1 TA Roles across a number of Primary Schools in Leyland | Long term roles | Starting in January

Your new company

Hays are working in partnership with Primary Schools across Leyland, providing opportunities for aspiring Teaching Assistants to find ideal roles. Schools are looking for both new and experienced Teaching Assistants to join their teams. These are full-time roles to start after Easter, and if successful, will be extended until the end of the academic year.

Your new role

As a teaching assistant, you are responsible for providing support and assistance to the pupils, whether it be in a group or 1:1 setting, as well as supporting the class teacher across both KS1 and KS2 year groups. There is always the potential to move round different year groups depending on the schools' needs, so you will need to be flexible and adapt your skills to meet the needs of the children. This is particularly important when working in SEN schools, as here they work based on pupil ability rather than age. By being a teaching assistant, you should possess good behaviour management skills and hit the ground running by building up those relationships with pupils as well as staff. There is currently a high demand for teaching assistants in the Leyland area, so please get in touch if you would like to know more or discuss the roles available.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful in securing this position, recent experience working with children within the last 2 years would be beneficial, for example, in an education setting or as a support worker. As the schools are recruiting immediately, it would be ideal if you can jump straight into the role, however, do not let this put you off applying, as we are always receiving new roles. SEN experience would also be desirable in this role, however it is not essential as it will depend on the school you are placed in.

What you'll get in return

In return, you will be paid a highly competitive daily rate and will be working in this successful school where you will become an integral part of a welcoming team of TA's. You will therefore have the opportunity to further develop your own teaching assistant skills and experience. A dedicated consultant will always be on hand should you have any questions or concerns.
