This long-established distribution company is seeking to recruit a Technical Support Engineer to support, manage and improve the end user experience and desktop environment. This role will include troubleshooting across multiple locations in the UK and Ireland and support for on-site and remote users to ensure efficient access to company IS systems and resources.

Your new role

There will be an opportunity to develop processes and tools to support this role, including hardware and software build, deployment, patching and support. You will be responsible for responding to Service Desk calls and enquiries promptly, accurately, and efficiently whilst providing day-today support for end users and maintaining a high level of desktop/laptop system service uptime. Other responsibilities will include diagnosing computer and application faults, development and management of device imaging and updates and taking ownership of resolving problems and escalating issues where required.

What you'll need to succeed.

For this role you will need to have a proficiency in Office 365, Windows 10 to current, common Windows applications and virtual server technologies. The ideal candidate for this role will have a good understanding of TCP/IP networking, Switch and Router configuration, a general knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and other server technologies. Preference will be shown to those candidates who can demonstrate experience within a Desktop Support and Management role and a full clean driving licence is also a requirement.
