IT Networks Manager - Up to £64,000 DOE - Hybrid - 48 Days of Annual Leave

Your new role
The Network Manager role is a critical position. The successful candidate will lead efforts to provide secure network services, ensuring seamless operations and growth. Responsibilities include staying updated on network security trends, leading technical direction, and implementing new solutions. What you'll need to succeed
Leadership:
  • Proven track record of leading a network infrastructure team.
  • Successfully managed large-scale network enhancement projects.
  • Cultivates collaboration and a strong customer service culture.
Relationship Building:
  • Skilled in enterprise supplier and contract management.
  • Effectively communicates IT’s role and business value.

    Service Excellence:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IT Service Management, emphasising continuous improvement and cost-efficient operations.
  • Proven ability to promptly resolve technical issues, maintaining reliable and available technology services within SLAs.
  • Demonstrates ownership of day-to-day operations, ensuring essential tasks are managed effectively.

    Personal Skills:
  • Proficient in time management, prioritisation, and achieving strategic goals.
  • Effective under pressure, adaptable, and skilled in problem resolution.
  • Provides technical thought leadership for network platform development.
  • Adapts behaviour to changing environments and communicates technical concepts clearly.
  • Committed to continuous learning and staying updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.

    Technical IT Infrastructure Experience:
  • Current experience managing enterprise-scale technology systems.
  • Responsible for designing technical architecture.

    Network Protocols:
  • Significant knowledge of routing (OSPF and BGP), network management (SNMP), and traffic, discovery, and aggregation (sFlow, LLDP, LACP).

    Network Security:
  • Advanced understanding of next-generation network firewalls, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation/SDA.
  • Proficient in applying and maintaining security best practices (NCSC, Cyber Essentials, PCI DSS).

    Network Standards:
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO layer 1 (Ethernet) wiring standards (copper and fiber-optic), wireless standards, ISO layer 2 (VLANs and authentication), and ISO layer 3 (IPv6).
  • Familiarity with DNS, DHCP, and IP address management (IPAM).

    Enterprise Networking:
  • Experience in large campus network architecture, design, and operations.
  • Development and maintenance of data centre and network communications rooms, including environmental services and security controls.
