Secondary school in Chorley seeking an IT Technician to provide interim support on an ongoing basis in school.

Your new company

This secondary school is based in the Chorley area and part of a wider multi-academy trust, therefore, with a strong central IT team in place, and they have approached Hays looking to add to this team on an interim basis. The school is easily accessible via both the M6 and M61, as well as by public transport links and the school has an excellent reputation locally.

Your new role

Reporting to the Trust Network Manager, you will join the school on a temporary basis and will be responsible for working closely with the wider IT team to provide a high level of IT support across the school for both staff and pupils. As an IT Technician, you will be responsible for supporting with hardware, software, specific educational technologies and with any networking issues present in school. On a daily basis, this will require receiving service requests, troubleshooting and resolving these efficiently to ensure that teaching and learning is not affected, as well as supporting staff members with IT issues on a daily basis. In addition, you will work closely with the Trust Network Manager around any ongoing IT projects which are happening to ensure the successful delivery of these and this could relate to the installation or upgrading of both hardware and software. This role is initially on a temporary basis and likely to start following the Easter break, continuing for up to 3 months.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess significant IT support experience, having handled first line issues, with experience working in the education sector being beneficial. In addition, any experience working with specific educational technologies and systems unique to the education sector. You must be available to start immediately and willing to commit to an interim role on an ongoing basis.
