IT Support/ Field Engineer - Permanent Job

Your new company
We are currently recruiting for an IT Support Engineer on a permanent basis for a well known brand going through a period of growth and transformation. This is a new position that has been created within the IT team to support the organisations expansion and investment in technology, having recently acquired new customers.
This position will be field based, with regular travel to customer sites across Kent, Essex, London and parts of Sussex. You will be allocated a company car, and all travel costs will be covered.

Your new position
As the IT Support Engineer, you will be allocated a number of customers that you will take ownership of supporting, with regular site visits each month. You will manage your own workload effectively; prioritising key visits each week.
On site, you will provide support for Desktop, Laptops, Tablets, Mobile Phones, and Hardware as well as supporting some in-house software/ applications (which you will be given full training on). The organisation is going through a period of change and transformation as they streamline their infrastructure estate. This person will play an active role in supporting the Team Lead and IT Manager in the delivery of that change, ensuring technology is fit for purpose as the organisation continues to grow.

In addition to the day-to-day support you will provide, you will also support with the set-up of new customer sites as the business continues to expand.

We are looking for someone with excellent customer-facing and problem-solving skills, able to think on your feet and proactively work to find new solutions and new ways of working to improve processes. You will have excellent communications skills at all levels, and be able to adapt your approach to your audience.


Your experience

We are looking for someone from a 1st/2nd Line Support background able to demonstrate excellent customer service. You will be confident working with customers face to face, providing support to users with varying degrees of technical understanding.

You will have previous experience supporting Windows 2012/ 2016, Exchange 365, Active Directory (joiners/ leavers etc), basic network troubleshooting (escalating to 3rd line as needed), MS products including SharePoint and setting up new laptop and mobile devices and hardware.

Due to the nature of this role, a driving licence and own transport is required for this position – you will be allocated a company vehicle for customer visits, but you must be able to access the head office (based in Kent) to collect your company vehicle, therefore access to your own transport is recommended.
