IT Engineer - Permanent - Bristol - Education Sector - On site - £up to 36k

Your new company

Hays are working with a well known school in Bristol city centre who are looking to recruit a permanent IT engineer into the IT services department. The role is full time on site, and paying between £28,000 - £36,000. The school offers a competitive pension, free lunch and the working hours are 8 hours per day, 40 hours a week.


Your new role

Within the role, you will help ensure the smooth delivery of ICT services to the school. You'll work closely with the IT manager and wider team to lead on issues and maintain the school's server infrastructure and core network. You will act as an escalation point for junior members within the team, resolving and troubleshooting technical issues and when required, escalating critical issues to the IT manager. You will also play a key role in supporting more junior members of the team. You will be involved in supporting critical hardware and software issues and supporting staff and pupils across the school.


What you'll need to succeed

To succeed you will need to be an experienced IT Technician with a range of experience at the 2nd line level. Ideally, you will have worked in the education sector and within schools previously, but this won't be essential. You will need to have experience with the M365 stack and Azure AD. You will need to have experience troubleshooting iPads, Macs and MDM. Furthermore, you will have exposure working with complex networks and in virtualised environments - VMware. You will need to have good time management skills, be a self-starter with good initiative, and be able to develop good relationships with stakeholders across the school.
