Full-time Housing Officer in Birmingham City Centre, 4-8 week assignment with ASAP start

Your new company

The West Midlands based Housing Association supports the West Midlands Combined Authority and the elected Mayor to deliver on their social and economic plans for the region. The partnership brings together more than 30 housing associations so that they can speak with a single voice on key issues. Together, they own a total of 120,000 homes across the Midlands. They also convened and continue to sponsor the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Anti-Social Behaviour, focusing on organisational and community responses to ASB, an issue of great importance to their tenants.

Your new role

We are looking to recruit 2 Housing officers to fulfil a short-term temporary contract for 4–8 weeks, with the potential to extend. As a Housing Officer, you will be the No Access Team with cases. The No Access team contact tenants to resolve access issues and prevent them from being escalated to a legal case and from going to go to court. In the instance you are unable to resolve the query with the tenant, you will prepare legal files for court and in some cases may be required to visit the property. This team work to a very high volume and you will action circa 35 cases a day.
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, and offers hybrid working.


What you'll need to succeed

In order to succeed in this role, you will need to have experience within a similar housing resolution role or legal experience, however you must be able to demonstrate excellent customer service, negotiation and problem-solving skills. This role will be an ASAP start, which before starting you will need to pass your reference and compliance checks, upon registration please have your 2 most recent employment details available for reference checks, have a full clean driving licence, and you will also need to pass a Standard DBS check to start this role, Hays will put this into process for you.

What you'll get in return

This is a full-time hybrid working position, when in office you will be based on Bath Row. This role offers an hourly rate of pay £18.33. Although this role is currently for 4-8 weeks, there may be a possibility of extension.
