Organisational Project Manager, Transformation Project Manager, Project Manager up to £500 a day
Your new company
This local authority in Essex has a newly created role for a Project Manager to join their team to lead the delivery of a number of critical projects, supporting the councils' transformation agenda. This is NOT an IT Project Manager role, they are looking for a wider skill set to transform delivery of services.
Your new role
- Manage and successfully deliver projects from start up through to closure, in accordance with agreed standards, providing fit for purpose solutions within time, quality and budget constraints
- Successfully managing project stakeholders, developing strong relations with the key stakeholders and project board members
- Demonstrate strong control of the project delivery, agreeing and managing project tolerances, utilising project standards and tools to ensure clear governance
- Manage projects for a variety of service areas and often a range of projects concurrently
- Co-ordinate project resources, including internal and 3rd party in the successful delivery of projects
- Identify and manage any project risks, providing appropriate controls and escalation
- Deliver project documentation and communications to a high standard
- Develop and own detailed project plans to monitor and track progress
- Lead all stages of the project, development plans (overall project plan, test plan, implementation plan)
- Monitor project progress, taking corrective action where necessary to keep them in plan
- Organise and run routine project meetings
- Provide regular project reporting and updates, as required
- Manage project budgets
- Work with project managers, technical leaders and key stakeholders to ensure dependencies on other projects are identified and managed
- Manage smooth transition of projects into operational business as usual, including handover of documentation
- Ensure projects reflect corporate strategic aims and priorities, deliver benefits and identify potential impacts on the council
- Provide quality assurance, project health checks and monitor performance of projects, providing reports to senior management/members as required
What you'll need to succeed
You must be an experienced Project Manager in Local Authorities, with experience of leading multi-multidisciplinary teams across a range of services.
THIS IS NOT AN IT PROJECT MANAGER ROLE
You must have excellent Project/Programme management skills, and ideally a certificate/qualification in Project Management.What you'll get in return
The role is paying up to £500 a day in-scope of IR3 and will require some presence on site with the client (possibly weekly) and it will last from 6 to 12 months.
