FIXED TERM CONTRACT UNTIL 20TH DECEMBER 2024, £67,652 PRO RATA, DEVON-BASED, HYBRID/REMOTE WORK

As Head of Information Systems and Data Management, you will be responsible for implementing the IS and Data Strategy and driving efficiency using technology across the organisation. You will lead the strategic development, management, and operation of the IS systems and data infrastructure whilst managing and motivating the teams to deliver an efficient service.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Implement and manage IS and data strategy which drives the future direction and utilisation of technology within the organisation and define business relevant KPIs to measure its benefits and success.
  • Design and implement a new target operating model that will support standardised processes/protocols (e.g. ITIL), to improve ongoing controls, and customer service.
  • Lead the certification of Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Review emerging technology trends for future IS development, creating competitive business opportunities.
  • Lead and continually improve the operational performance of the team to agreed service level agreements.
  • Implement standards and operating practices for data management, information lifecycle management, and security.
  • Deliver an effective and efficient data ecosystem, ensuring access to accurate, consistent, and timely information to aid effective decision-making.
  • Effectively recruit, manage, train, and develop the IS department, ensuring the team understands their contribution to strategic objectives and their roles and responsibilities.

Essential Requirements:
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive awareness of existing and developing technologies and how they can be applied to the organisation.
  • Able to recognise business opportunities and present a clear strategic vision of how technology can be applied to achieve business success.
  • Experience of managing n-tier architectures hosted in private and public cloud environments.
  • A strong working knowledge of fundamental computing concepts to support troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical thinking methodologies.
  • Proven management experience, including performance management.
  • Experience of successfully building lasting relationships and influencing and collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, which include being responsive to requests and adept at flexing communication style to different individuals.
