About the role
A member of the team working within the heating team. Ensuring properties are serviced, maintained, and repaired to a high standard. You will be responsible for carrying out servicing, testing, repairs and minor installations efficiently and economically in accordance with current working practices and all related health and safety legislation and good practice. The engineers are required to work Monday – Friday 9am-5pm with a 15:30pm finish on a Friday. There is also negotiable out of hours work available.
You will be responsible for:
  • Undertaking a range of service and maintenance work, repairing or replacing items to maintain properties to a high standard, including producing gas safety certificates, in line with the role skills framework.
  • To complete work in conjunction with all health and safety procedures, policies and legislation.
  • To work efficiently and deliver high standards of quality.
  • Working unsupervised and in occupied or unoccupied (void) properties and complying with the Code of Conduct.
  • To be competent in the completion of reports, ordering materials and completing orders.
  • To work in a professional and courteous manner.
  • To participate in an out of hours emergency rota and attend call-outs as required.
Working relationships and contacts
  • Internal - Operations Gas Supervisors, Area managers, other Heating Team colleagues, Contact Centre, Property Services Administration, Housing Teams.
  • External - residents, suppliers, contractors and sub-contractors.
What are we looking for?
Essential requirements:
  • City & Guilds, NVQ level 3 or similar
  • ACS including CCN1 CEN1 WAT1
  • HTR1 CKR1 CPA1
  • UVHW
  • Gas safe registered
  • 5 GCSE’s at grade C or above or equivalent
  • Up to date with industry regulations and requirements
  • Experience with fault-finding on modern condensing boilers.
  • Experience in housing.
Desirable qualifications:
  • LPG, Commercial
  • Plumbing NVQ
  • Solar thermal
  • MET1
  • ASHP
