Job Title: Finance Manager Location: Glasgow OR Edinburgh
Your new company
You will be working for this sizeable and well-regarded charity whose mission is to make a difference to local people and communities; improving quality of life. The organisation give grants to charities and grassroots groups that make a day-to-day difference to lots of people’s lives. The organisation also works alongside communities where people come together to find their own solutions to things like loneliness, poverty and health issues. The charity is looking for a committed and experienced Finance Manager to join them on a permanent basis, working 3 or 4 days per week.
Your new role
As the operational Finance Manager, you will be working with the Head of Finance to support the implementation of the organisation's long term finance strategy, as well as supporting, managing and training the wider finance team. You will also have a focus on improving systems and processes, working with other operational managers and taking the lead on internal audit. You will deputise for the Head of Finance as required.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a detailed knowledge of charity accounting principles, and a track record of successfully leading and managing a finance team. You will have strong analytical skills and be able to demonstrate both operational and strategic thinking. You will have a proficiency in accounting software and be able to evidence successful production of annual accounts and monthly reporting, ensuring monitoring delivery against budgets.

You will be working from either Edinburgh or Glasgow and the organisation has a flexible approach to hybrid working, with the finance team coming together every 4–6 weeks in the office. This is a part-time role with the option of working 3 or 4 days. You will also benefit from a generous pension with the organisation contributing 10%, rising to 12% if you choose to pay 3%+.
