Job Summary:
The Senior Estimator plays a crucial role in ensuring cost-effective building practices within the social housing sector. They are responsible for estimating costs, managing budgets, and overseeing procurement processes. This position is offered on a fixed-term contract (FTC) basis for 6–12 months, with a salary range of £44,000 to £45,000.

Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation and Analysis:
- Accurately estimate the cost of construction projects related to social housing.
- Analyse data to prepare budgets and subsequent valuations.
- Procurement and Material Management:
- Procure subcontractors, materials, and goods following established procedures.
- Implement a payments system for subcontractors and material suppliers.
- Budget Control and Site Costs:
- Prepare commercial cost appraisals and feasibility analyses.
- Monitor site costs and budgets throughout development.
- Ensure cost overruns are within tolerance levels.
- Site Development Support:
- Collaborate with site development teams to achieve targets.
- Contribute to conceptual designs/options for site valuation.
- Team Management:
- Manage the work of the surveying team.
- Provide clear guidelines and support for team members.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with group IT systems.
- Report to the Commercial Director in a standardised format.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record in a similar role or at the level of Quantity Surveyor.
- Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to gather, interpret, and present data effectively.
