Billing Coordinator - £42,000 - High Profile Specialist Law Firm

Your new company

With a rich legacy spanning five decades, your new company is a distinguished law practice. They have an exceptional track record which extends across a wide spectrum of specialised legal services, catering to diverse clients. You will be based in their modern central London offices where you will work half of the time, with the rest of your time working remotely. You will be part of a finance team of around 15 people, with seven specialist billers alongside you.

Your new role

  • Deliver high quality support to the Firm for drafting interim and final claims for submission to the LAA.
  • Handle overall aspects of processing and submitting claims for matters under the Legal Help/ Legal Aid scheme also the exceptional cases.
  • Manage the monthly spreadsheet sorted by client for billing notes and instructions that need to be implemented according to the fee earner.
  • Administrate case plans and Bill of Costs;
  • Responsible for the approval of invoicing process and posting bills.
  • Handle high volumes of emails into the billing inbox from fee earner, associates, paralegals and secretaries.
  • Generate Monthly WIP (Work In Process) reports and billing reports.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need to have excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude and a confident approach.

  • It is essential to have at least five years of legal billing experience - ideally with experience with Legal Aid.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong IT and systems skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under time pressure.
