Permanent Credit Controller | £25K to £30K | Ledbury | Pension | 24 days holiday plus bank | Parking |37 hours

Your new company

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Credit Controller to join the Finance team of a well-established SME manufacturing business based in the Ledbury area. As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for reducing levels of debt, whilst developing and upholding strong relationships with customers.

The role is paying up to £28k, is permanent and 37 hours a week from Monday to Friday.

Work hours are 8:30am to 5pm with a 4pm finish on Fridays.

Your new role

You will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:

  • To chase debt over the phone and via email, whilst prioritising those waiting for delivery or are over their payment terms/ credit limit
  • Ensuring customer information is updated and completed, as required
  • Performing credit checks regarding customers, on a regular basis, including both current and new
  • To use online portals for the uploading of invoices
  • Issuing of credit notes (small value) to cover any shortfalls of remittance
  • Working in a collaborative manner with other departments in order to rectify billing issues, whilst ensuring process improvement
  • Preparation and deliverance of regular reports for accounts receivable and aged debt
  • Assistance with any potential ad hoc duties, as necessary, for example; covering colleagues
  • Management of shared email inboxes

What you'll need to succeed

  • To be proficient in MS Office and accounting packages
  • To be qualified by experience, AAT qualified, or part qualified
  • Previous experience in a credit control role, preferably in a manufacturing business
  • To have strong attention to detail
  • Have good telephone etiquette
  • Be self-sufficient and a team player with excellent organisation
