Hays Accountancy and Finance have partnered with a leading international wholesaler, and distributor in the Stonehouse area, now looking for a new Accounts Assistant to join the finance team in order to support with both the Credit Control (75% of the role) and Purchase Ledger side of the business.

This position will be 36.5 hours, Monday to Friday, working 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9 to 4pm on Fridays.

Your new role

As an Accounts Assistant, you will liaise closely with the Finance Manager to ensure the effective operation of the Finance department, whilst providing ongoing support, including Purchase Ledger and Credit Control duties. For example:

• Processing invoices, whilst ensuring they are formatted in the right manner
• Communicating and negotiating with suppliers
• Processing standard and stock invoices
• Credit control, chasing debt via phone and email
• Dealing with monthly supplier payments
• Processing EDI customer invoices
• To ensure credit control and chasing of payments
• Provide support with non-stock procurement
• You will also process and review monthly expenses

What you'll need to succeed

• Accounts Payable and Credit Control experience

• The ability to work under pressure

• Excellent communication skills, including, written, verbal and on the phone

• Proficiency in Excel, SAP or other accounting packages

• To be able to maintain high organisation, whilst meeting deadlines

• A positive attitude

• Good attention to detail
