Forensic Social Worker (Band 6&7), Wakefield, £25-£42 per hour, Full-time, PAYE/UMBRELLA

Your new company

Hays are seeking a dedicated and passionate Band 6/7 Forensic Social Worker to join our dynamic team in Wakefield on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to service users and their families.


Your new role

The forensic Social Worker will have a key role to play in relation to supporting the delivery both the personalisation and social inclusion agendas ensuring quality public facing services including health and social care services. The role will involve assessing; accessing; and implementing a range of social care services and providing guidance/advice and information for adults with acute or long term physical health, mental health needs and for older people and carers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that patients have a social history completed to inform the post admission assessment process and in accordance with the post admission pathway process
  • Undertake reports within deadlines
  • Gather information for needs assessment and risk analysis from patients and others such as family members and external social care and probation agencies
  • Provide social circumstances reports for Mental Health Tribunals, Managers Hearings and the Parole Board which confirm to the standards for such reports
  • Attend Mental Health Tribunals and other formal meetings to represent Social work Perspective.
  • Take a lead role in Multidisciplinary team in enabling patients to exercise their rights
  • Travel will be required as part of the role


What you'll need to succeed

  • Professional Social Work qualification, DipSW, CQSW, CSS, BA, MA
  • Ensuring current registration with the Professional Social Work regulatory body at all times
  • A clear understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice
  • Experience of working as a Forensic Social Worker
