The role of Buyer is perfect for a commercially aware procurement or purchasing professional with a proven track record in managing others to deliver the best possible service. If you’re keen to get involved with a range of challenging projects in a fast-paced environment, this could be an opportunity for you.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

• Achieving personal and team KPI’s on a daily basis

• Ensuring the successful purchasing of goods for production with optimal lead times and costings

• Innovatively and efficiently sourcing required materials and equipment

• Managing supplier performance and maintaining positive relations with suppliers and customers

• Conducting pricing and service negotiations to secure the best possible agreements

• Maintaining stock levels and supply chain flow to ensure excellent customer service

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience with maintenance equipment and sourcing

• Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role

• Ability to think creatively and offer solutions

• Strong communication and negotiation skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages

• Experience in a busy department within a manufacturing environment is desirable

• Understanding of technical CAD drawings is desirable

• Knowledge of raw materials specifications
