Business Analyst - Salisbury - £50,000 - Must be eligible for SC Clearance

Your new company

Our client, who partner with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, manage and operate their UK Defence Training Estate, covering all found nations. Their responsible for Armed Forces to train safely and deploy on operations. This is integral to the security of our nation, underpinned by the maintenance and safe and secure defence infrastructure.

Your new role

They are currently looking to recruit a Business Analyst to join their IT team. You will work with business (end user) and technical teams, clarifying and documenting business needs, analysing business problems and identifying opportunities in the context of IT service solutions. You will play a key role in the delivery of IT related projects and business process improvement, acting as the ‘bridge’ between technical and non-technical stakeholders. You’ll work closely with business stakeholders. Assess business area and end user needs and current processes, providing advice on how to develop and implement IT service improvements, whilst analysing, documenting and prioritising their requirements that enable a chosen solution to be specified, developed, evaluated and tested, using IT Project Office approved tools and techniques.

Play an active role within IT project tea, supporting the Project Manager and working closely with the software development team to ensure requirements are delivered to specification in order to meet business stakeholder expectations.

What you'll need to succeed

Experience of working in a product managed aligned environment focused on working with Product Managers to support ongoing identification of business opportunities, defining product requirements, and work with cross-functional teams to provide ongoing development of their products / services. You'll
analyse business problems to derive technical requirements that a software development team can work from to build high quality solutions
Experience of managing small to medium-sized projects as required. The ability to establish, maintain and develop effective working relationships. Display a willingness to work alone and as part of a team in a fast paced technical environment. Ability to work across multiple technical projects simultaneously as required, delivering to deadlines
Can respond effectively to conflicting work demands, prioritise accordingly and set realistic expectations for stakeholders

  • Level 6 qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. Degree)
  • ISEB Foundation in Business Analysis (or equivalent)
  • ISEB Certificate in Requirements Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience of working with ITIL Service Management Processes and Lifecycle
  • Desirable - V3 Foundation Certificate (or later)
