Your new company

Hays is currently working with a well established mechanical contractor who operates predominantly in the east midlands. This client has currently entered the end phase of a 800 bed student accomodation building in Nottinghamshire, and is looking for an interim mechanical project manager to see the project through the finish line. This is an interim 2-month contract working from site reporting to the contract manager.

Your new role

As the mechanical manager, you will mainly oversee and be responsible for:

• Commissioning, snagging, checking for defects, overseeing final quality checks
• Kitchen sinks, hot water systems, HVAC
• Overseeing and reporting on all other mechanical assets on site
• Overseeing and managing HVAC engineers, plumbers, labourers and all other subcontractors
• Preparing reports and meeting deadlines on installations
• If needed, procurement of materials, labour and all other resources

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience in a similar role or ability to take projects across the finish line

• Mechanical qualifications or equivalent

• Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels

• Keen eye for detail and quality

• Ability to get into Nottingham
