Adult Social Care Lawyer for Local Government
Your new company:
Take part in a team of specialist social care lawyers within an East local authority and help with issues relating to adult social care.
Your new role:
As a Social Care Lawyer, you will conduct a wide variety of legal work relevant to social care matters, including making applications to the Court of Protection and High Court, providing detailed and accurate legal advice on the Council's responsibilities under various acts and guidance (Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Health and Social Care Act, and Mental Health Act), and offering legal advice and support across a range of areas such as ordinary residence, data protections, FOI, safeguarding, provider failure, section 117 aftercare, and 16-17 year old deprivation of liberty cases. The initial duration of the assignment is 3 - 6 months, starting ASAP, in April.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Qualified as a lawyer
- Working experience in adult social care matters mentioned above (especially court case handling experience is indispensable)
- Previous experience of local authorities work (highly desirable)
- Knowledge of English law, local government law, equalities law, and data protection (desirable)
A DBS check, political restriction, and the right to work in the UK are needed for this role.
