An established and highly regarded local organisation, my client is recruiting for the position of Assistant Accountant to join their finance department located in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

Your new role

Reporting to the Head of Finance, this is a varied and interesting role providing the successful candidate with exposure to a wide range of accounting duties across the department. Key duties will include sales and purchase ledger posting, bank reconciliations, supplier and customer query investigation and resolution, VAT returns, cash-flow forecasting and supporting with monthly management accounts preparation.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will have strong bookkeeping and reconciliation experience combined with confident systems and Excel (pivot tables / lookups) skills. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills will be pivotal. Month-end reporting and management accounts preparation experience would be highly beneficial but not essential.

My client is flexible on the level of practical experience you bring to the role whether you are coming from a Purchase Ledger/Accounts Assistant background or an experienced Assistant Accountant looking for a new challenge, however key will be a proactive and positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.

What you'll get in return

Salary £30000 - £38000 (dependent on experience and qualification)
