Director of Special Client Projects/Events, Remote, £45,000 - £50,000, Immediate Start!

Our client, an exciting Start-up whom are on a mission to transform workplaces globally, are looking to recruit a passionate, experienced Director of Special Projects/Events to join their growing team. Working remotely (with 1 day a month reserved as a company meet-up in Central London), this is an incredible opportunity for the right candidate! Our client help to design and deliver unique behaviour-changing learning programs for their client base and, to date, have helped to support over 300+ companies across 100+ countries - reaching over 2 million employees! In addition to their incredible client-facing work, they also take the time to reward internal high performers across the globe, running prestigious Awards nights in both the UK and US. Due to their exponential growth, they are actively seeking the perfect candidate to help to completely own/organise these 2 x annual awards nights, in addition to assisting in ensuring their external client base is as satisfied as possible with the company’s services. In a nutshell, your responsibilities will include:

  • Using your proven track record in project management to deliver the biannual Awards across both continents
  • Working closely with other members of the team to manage any other special projects on an ad-hoc basis
  • Developing and implementing a strategic vision for each special project, aligning with the company’s goals (and then executing on this at pace!)
  • Taking ownership and overseeing the entire project lifecycle for each Awards night, from initiation to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to an incredibly high standard
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, securing buy-in and support for project(s)
  • Identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with special projects to ensure successful outcomes
  • Managing budgets for Awards and other special projects, ensuring financial resources are allocated efficiently and effectively
  • Evaluating the success and impact of special projects, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement in a timely manner
  • Providing clear and concise reporting with clear communication to senior management on all projects under your remit
  • Leading and inspiring a team of professionals working on special projects, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment and empowering others

In order to be considered for this position, it is ESSENTIAL that you have the following:

  • Proven track record in exceptional project management, including major event coordination and delivery across diverse landscapes
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of every aspect of the project/s, from planning to execution, supplier management to budget control
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with various & diverse stakeholders across multiple projects, including corporate clients with a keen eye on attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to address issues as they arise and make quick, effective decisions including escalating where necessary
  • Ability to work collaboratively, to listen, to share and engage
  • Flexibility and adaptability to navigate unexpected challenges and changes throughout various projects with a positive mindset to find solutions to problems
  • Strong negotiation skills to secure deals with suppliers, agencies, and other service providers
  • Desired experience of using Keynote / PowerPoint to create presentations
  • Excited by ambiguity and open-ended challenges
  • Fun, sociable personality
  • Genuine desire to progress!

In addition to a very competitive basic salary, our client are also offering the following:
