Our Technology division, split across Glasgow and Edinburgh, has doubled in size over the past two years as we’ve exceeded year on year targets, and we don’t see this slowing down. Due to consistent growth, we’ve opened this new, exciting vacancy to the open market as it’s crucial to our long-term growth plans.
Your New Office
As part of the Glasgow team, you’ll join over 45 colleagues working across nine specialist areas. Our city centre location is easily accessible via public transport and is within walking distance of Glasgow’s best coffee shops and restaurants.
This exciting opportunity will see you manage and develop our Technology Perm business. You’ll lead and manage our current team, comprising of a mixture of tenure from Associates to experienced Business Managers. We’ve plans to double this team over the next year, so you’ll work closely with the Technology Director and Talent Partner to influence the direction of your team.

Your New Role
This is a new position that we’re bringing to the market for the first time in Glasgow. Over the past two years, we’ve run our Technology Perm business from our Edinburgh office, and it’s been instrumental in delivering our growth and fee targets. Due to our ambitious growth plans and huge opportunities in the market, we’re looking to establish a Glasgow focussed Perm business.
Your job will be twofold. On one hand you’ll be running your own desk in a vertical technology specialism and on the other, you’ll be operationally managing the performance of the Glasgow Permanent Technology team.
As a leader in the Perm business, you’ll deliver client diversification and specialist candidate strategies, which will allow you and your team to position yourself in the market as leading Technology Recruitment experts.
To have the most impact on the Technology recruitment market, we specialise in niche markets with significant growth potential, including Cyber Security, Development, Infrastructure, Data, Cloud and Projects. Over the next three years we expect there to be innovative sub-specialisms due to the significant investment in the industry.
Your passionate approach to people and team development will ensure your team is supported and focussed on delivering for your clients and candidates. Operationally, you’ll manage your team through onboarding, training, reviews and support them in their own career development.
In addition, you’ll be working with some of our investment partnerships and products. Our product, Hays Rise, was established to help Technology start-ups accelerate their hiring processes. We’re also a strategic partner with Fintech Scotland and a member of ScotlandIS which give us unique opportunities to engage with the wider technology market in Scotland.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Ideally, we’re looking for a strong, experienced Manager with exceptional people management skills, however, if you’re an ambitious Principal/Senior Recruitment Consultant looking for an opportunity to build a team and a business, then this is an opportunity you should consider and we would be keen to talk to you.
A strong, lead from the front approach to managing a team is vital for this role and this approach will not only help you establish your own key focus but set an example of best practice for your team.
Demonstrated experience of a 360 approach to recruitment is desirable along with demonstrable ability to win business and establish strong candidate networks.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential to ensure the team is focussed on the right outcomes.
